Stability of the parliamentary system and elections in Slovakia

The article is focused on the problem of the evaluating of the stability of the parliamentary system in Slovakia. Author correlated parliamentary system with the quality of the electoral system of the country during the post-Communist period. In Slovakia the regime of ministerialism was established, which is characterized by the prevalence of the executive branch of the authority over the legislature in a parliamentary form of government. The author concludes that the directive nature of the relative stability of parliamentary system in Slovakia is based on the stability of the voter preferences towards the dominant party.
