Standardization of medical plant and preparations of Panax ginseng C.A.Meyer

There were developed the techniques of qualitative and quantitative analysis of biological active compounds (saponins) in plant material and preparations (tincture, syrup and tablets) of ginseng ( Panax ginseng C.A.Meyer). By using of the developed methodics for estimation of the authenticity and quality of plant material there were determined the optimal conditions for procurement of roots of Panax ginseng C.A.Meyer. Based on these data there was substantiated the expediency of cultivation ginseng roots in Samara region and of the using of the ginseng roots for the obtaining of preparations including the syrup and tablets of this plant. To standardization of the content of saponins in the roots and preparations there were proposed the method of direct spectrophotometry using the specific absorbance of ginsenoside Rg 1 at 526 nm.
