Бесплатный доступ

The article provides an overview of the most notable publications on the history of the formation and development of the border security system, using the village of Zheltura in the Dzhidinskiy District of the Republic of Buryatia as an example. These publications were released from the late 20th to the early 21st century. Special attention is given to the establishment of Zheltura as a Cossack stanitsa (settlement). Based on the analysis of his- tonography on the topic, the author concludes that despite a substantial body of work on the history of border security and Cossack history, there is no comprehensive study covering all aspects and features of the organization of border service, either in Buryatia as a whole or regarding specific border outposts within the republic. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of further research on this topic and outlines key research objectives.
