Stanytsia-Luganska district as a part of territorial recreational system of Lugansk region

In spite of the signs of crisis in a world economy, the tourism is still a branch with a upward trend of development, that testifies about its stability as a social phenomenon. The article is devoted to the issues of importance of tourism development in Stanytsia-Luganska district of Lugansk region. This district has not recreational specialization, therefore the research, focused on the discovering of the district capabilities for tourism development, is very actual. The development of recreational sphere in the district will contribute to creation of new workplaces and the development of business activity. All these points defined the choice of the district as territory of research. The current challenges of recreational geography are considered in this article. The object of research is a territorial recreational system; the subject of research is Stanytsia-Luganska recreational subdistrict. The structure of Stanytsia-Luganska recreational subdistrict is analyzed (component and functional, territorial and functional and administrative aspects). The components of touristic potential are evaluated. Among them: natural (physico-geographical conditions, climatic and hydrographic conditions, flora and fauna), natural-anthropogenic (national nature reserves, zakazniks (type of protected areas in Ukraine), natural landmarks), architectural and historical (samples of archeology, architecture and town-building, historical monuments), infrastructural (hotels and other means of accommodation, children's recreational institutions, health-resort and healthy institutions), biosocial (famous personalities) and eventual (cultural events). The elements of territorial structure are represented (main recreational points). The administrative structure of Stanitsia-Luganska recreational subdistrict is studied on the national, regional (Oblast) and district levels. The main investment projects in tourism were considered. The place of Stanitsia-Luganska district on the tourism market of the Lugansk Oblast is defined. The ways of intensification of tourism development are suggested.
