The modern development of the society has identified the problem of pedagogical paradigm transition, which can fully satisfy the needs of an individual and a society. The problem of humanization of education is studied by scholars as one of possible solutions. The article deals with development of the humanistic educational paradigm in Russia starting from the late 19 th century until the modern period.
