The article analyzes the formation and development of the institution of constitutional control in the Soviet and post-Soviet periods, traces the evolution of scientific views on the essence of constitutional control (supervision) in different periods of time, examines the influence of these views on the creation of bodies of constitutional control (supervision) in the system of state construction.
