Formation and development of using methods of statistical analysis in the study of crime and criminals in pre-revolutionary Russia

The article considers the process of formation and development of domestic crime statistics in pre-revolutionary Russia. The basic informational data on crime and criminals statistically taken into account in the Russian Empire during the 19th and early 20th centuries, the established procedure of collecting data and the authorities that ensure collecting and statistic recording of such information are also presented.
