The formation and the development of domestic design-education

This article is considered the history of development of domestic design-education from 1918, when the First and the Second Svomas (The First and the Second Free State Art Studios) were established, which were formed into a unified education institution in 1920 - Vkhutemas (Higher Art and Technical Studios), later it was reorganized in the Vkhutein (the HSATIN) - the Higher State Art and Technical Institute (in 1926). There are defined the modern trends of development of the Russian design -education in the article. The article author concludes that the summary retrospective analysis is allowed to recreate a comprehensive picture of the formation and the development of design and design -education; to form and justify the aim and goals, to clarify the methods and technologies of professional training of designers.
