Formation and development of technology education of high school students in Russia

The article considers difficult stages of formation and development of the labour training in the Russian education from 1917 to 1993 and the main stages of the development of a new school subject “Technology” that replaced the labour training. These changes are aimed to expand the students’ ability to apply the acquired skills and knowledge in their everyday life. The author supposes that there are some issues in the technology education of high school students that can be solved only with the help of the government and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
