The article shows that the development of market relations in the Russian Federation has led to the revival of the institution of bankruptcy (insolvency). The development of civil law norms, enshrined in the relevant normative legal acts, establishing the legal means of achieving the goal of the institution of insolvency, starting from «Russian Truth» to the present, is considered.
