Formation of digimatic civilization: key concepts. Part 2

The article presents the second part of a comprehensive study of the validity of the transition to digital sociology. The rationale for such a transformation in relation to the emergence of a digital society is explored. The author notes that a conceptual apparatus which is used by scientists dealing with the processes of networking, digitalization, cybernetics, etc., reflecting the main features of digital society, has not yet been developed. In this regard, the work characterizes such categories as virtual reality, cyberspace, and digital environment. In addition, an assessment of the social impacts and potential risks arising from the processes of virtualization and digitalization is presented. An attempt was made to identify vectors that usually set the general evolution of societies, and to identify the features of the formation of a particular type of society. The study conceptualizes and operationalizes an inter-disciplinary conceptual framework characterizing the emergence of a digital-type society.
