Formation of professional identity of students of universities of various specialties in the context of the realization of the potential of the individual

Background. Improving the quality system of higher professional education has a rich arsenal of innovativetechnologies for training a competent specialist who possesses not only a high level of basic preparedness, but moraland value attitudes, which determines success in the future in the professional field. However, issues related tomonitoring the state of mental health of young students during their studies at a university, and a meaningfulunderstanding of this process in ontogenetic relationship with the options for the formation of types of professionalidentity of students require more in-depth study and evaluation. Previously, no attempt was made to identify somefeatures in the entire multiplicity of options for mental and personal responses in the process of establishing types ofprofessional identity among students of various specialties. Objective: to study and analyze the types of professionalidentity of university students of various specialties in the context of the realization of the individual's potential, todetermine the relationship of personal disorders with social activity in achieving a professional status. Object ofResearch: third- and fourth-year students of different specialties of universities in Barnaul (n=131): girls (n=83) andboys (n=48). Research Methods: testing, questioning, psychosemantic and psychodiagnostic methods, contentanalysis, correlation analysis, factor analysis, multivariate analysis of variance, Kruskal-Wallis test. Results.Statistically significant differences were established between the identified types of professional identity and thetendency to form personality disorders in the research sample of students. The specificity of the differences found isdetermined by personal potential, professional motivation, focus on certain attitudes in society, consistency with thebeliefs of significant relatives, as well as peculiarities of attitude to the chosen professional activity. The relationshipbetween a certain type of professional identity of students and their tendency to develop personality disorders wasrevealed. Any type of professional identity that determines professional productivity, except for a formed identity, isassociated with susceptibility to the development of personality disorders.
