Formation of the Supreme Court of the USSR: historical aspect

The article examines the formation of the Supreme Court of the USSR as the highest judicial body of the Soviet state, the evolution of relevant legislation, the structure and powers of the Court. The author comes to the conclusion that the Soviet Union was distinguished by an effective judicial system with a centralized organization. The disadvantages of this system were caused by the fact that its foundation was an ideology based on communist ideas, which in general did not interfere with the provision of judicial activities in the country.
