The old believers' book tradition of the Yenisei: the possibilities and problems of comparative analysis

The article discusses the study of one of the most important components of the traditional culture of ethnic-religious groups - bookishness. The focus is on the possibilities and problems of diachronic and synchronic comparative study of the traditions of the Yenisei Old believers. The level of research in adjacent and remote old believers regions is noted. The degree of availability and representativeness of the revealed book rarities in the Yenisei old believer communities is analyzed. The author emphasizes the preliminary nature of the results based on the study of dispersed book collections of the Yenisei. The main problems of correctness of comparative analysis of regional book tradition at the modern level of information possession are formulated.
