The article discusses the concept of "sustainability of agricultural production" and its essence. The dynamics of the main indicators of the development of grain production in the Altai Territory from 2010 to 2019 is estimated. The trends are identified and the level of stability of the main parameters of the grain industry is determined - sown areas, grain yields and their gross harvests, the main causes of the unstable state of the development of grain production are identified.
