Statistical study of characteristics of propagation of travelling ionospheric disturbances from the data of ISTP SB RAS radiophysical complex

The study deals with the research into space-time structure of travelling ionospheric disturbances on the basis of electron density profiles measured by two rays of Irkutsk Radar of Incoherent Scatter and ionosonde. There has been developed the method for determining the space-time structure of wave disturbances using the cross-correlation and spectral analyses of electron density. The full analysis of electron density profiles from January 15, 2011 to February 17, 2011 was made including determining the velocity full vector, for 1-6-hour ionospheric disturbances corresponding to internal gravity waves. The resulting characteristics of propagation agree with certain conceptions of wave ionospheric disturbances. From long-term continuous measurements carried out with the use of ionosonde, the automatic method for finding ionospheric disturbances has been worked out. The statistical analysis of electron density disturbances was made for 2004-2009.
