Glass beads from the Davydovo hillfort

The paper deals with the studies of glass beads dating to the Iron Age and themedieval period retrieved from the occupation layer of the Davydovo hillfort (TambovRegion). The authors have prepared a typology of items on the basis of the technologicalprinciple, and provided closest cultural and chronological analogies. Several bead sampleshave been correlated with the radiocarbon dates obtained by studying organic residues atthe Davydovo hillfort. An overwhelming majority of the beads from the collection inquestion are dated to the medieval period of this site occupation, with the exception of twobeads, which, in the authors' opinion, mark the presence of the Gorodets archaeologicalculture at the hillfort.
