Level of human development and rule of law in Republic of Serbia

A great political and economic crisis, as well as a series of armed conflicts during the last decade contributed to degradation and threat to perspective and prosperity in Serbia. Serbia is in the period of economic and political stabilization after a post-conflict stage. The rule of law, which is based on division of power, provides the essential legal framework for democratic governance. The preventive and control mechanisms are therefore efficient, while the judiciary is protected from undesired influences.
