In calves of the Black-and-White breed during period of intensive growing and fattening the authors studied the effect of various splitting of fodder protein on bioenergy status, growth intensity and use of substrates in energy metabolism. The efficiency of use of metabolic energy on liveweight gain of animals was estimated. It was shown, that the improvement amino acid's supply as a result of consumption of fodder with low protein splitting in rumen at the condition of balanced nutrition permit to the reduction of heat emission (3,35 %), the increase of energy accumulation on liveweight gain (10,22 %) and the raising of efficiency in the use of metabolic energy on liveweight gain (5,87 %) as compared with control.
