Stylistic devices as the dominant means of creating images of the main heroes in the novel "Possesion" by A.S. Byatt

Based on the novel «Possession» by A.S. Byatt the article deals with stylistic devices as the main means of creating images of the main characters. The results of the conducted analysis enable to conclude that the dominant stylistic devices used by the author include epithets, similes, metaphors, evaluative lexis. A special role is played by allusions which give additional emotional features to the characters.
