Stylistics and study of the Chinese language

The article addresses the necessity of studying stylistics in the process of learning Chinese is considered. The problems in teaching foreign students to understand, translate and use stylistic expressions of Chinese are analyzed. The author offers a classification of stylistic errors in the process of stylistic usage by foreign students in the course of speech communication in Chinese. The article gives the examples illustrating typical mistakes of students when translating stylistic expressions from Chinese into their native language and back. The article makes the conclusion that foreign students should learn basic Chinese stylistics to achieve the real Chinese language proficiency.
