The clash of genres in Boris Akunin’s play “The Seagull”

This short study examines the genre aspect of Akunin’s play “Seagull”. Due to the elements meet by the reader as an anomaly, there is an internal transformation of the meanings of the text, entering in to interaction, game. This explains and new genre: detective comedy. The structure of dramatic text is sprinkled throughout the elements of criminal story that are exposed to our analysis. The questions of different genres’ clashes within one literary work are problemized. This leads to the research of coverage the ratio of literature and canon. The results of motif analysis show that the metapoetic level plays an important role in the process of constructing genres.
