Stomatological health of the early middle ages population in Tobol river region (materials of Ustyug-1 burial ground)

The publication is devoted to studying of dental diseases dynamics in group of the Bakal archeological culture from the Ustyug-1 burial site, located in Tobol river region. The source of investigation was 28 individuals. The main method of the article is based on determines of caries, periodontal diseases, linear enamel hypoplasia, dental calculus, abscess and enamel fractures frequencies. Frequency of dental pathologies allow us to suggest a complex composition of the diet. A low level of carbohydrates in the group's diet was observed. The frequency of dental calculus was higher in men than in women. The serious differences between Early Middle Age group (Ustyug-1) and Early Iron Age groups were fixed. The population of Sargat culture shows a higher level of food stresses.
