Strategic goals of the energy transition in the Republic of Azerbaijan

Despite the fact that the oil and gas sector forms the basis of Azerbaijan’s economy, the state, taking into account global trends in environmental protection, has been working purposefully in recent years to save energy and introduce environmentally friendly types of energy production. The key to the stable development of the country's economy in this direction is the rational use of natural resources and the introduction of innovative methods and means of energy production. The article provides an assessment of the use of alternative energy sources in Azerbaijan. It also highlights international economic cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources (RES). Aspects such as investments and financing, knowledge exchange, and sustainable development are considered.
