Propaganda strategies after the events of "black Saturday" in the publications of the newspapers "Pravda" and "The New York Times" of October 28-29, 1962 during the Cuban missile crisis

This article analyzes propaganda strategies after the events of ‘Black Saturday’ in the newspaper issues of Pravda and The New York Times published on the 28th and the 29th of October 1962 during the course of Cuban Missile Crisis using quantitative, comparative and visual research methods. In order to identify the main methods and techniques used by the newspapers Pravda and The New York Times, the publications were analyzed according to a number of criteria: the number of publications, the placement of articles in the newspaper issue, headline analysis (content analysis), the objectivity of the presentation of facts and events, the use of images, and etc. This analysis made it possible to understand how quality press constituted their policy during the most intense days of Cuban Missile Crisis.
