Strategy of approaches during investigation of viruses infected a potato in the Far East region

The author summed the literature data and the results of own investigations in respect to exposure, geographic distribution and tortious action of phytopathogenic viruses infected the potato plants in the Far East. The taxonomy. the symptomology, the ways of transfer of different viruses infected potato and the methods of counteraction to viral diseases were described. It was stressed specially, that the main measures on the control of viral diseases can be direct to the removal of viral infection source and the breaking of infectious chain: plant-reservoir - insects-carrier - infected plant. The main measures during the growing of noninfected potato seeds were considered. It was shown, that for the obtaining of healthy seeds the field techniques of selection of the best clones can be combine with laboratory sanitary measures. The development of the new highly sensitive techniques for viruses identification (immunodiagnostics, biological testing, electronic microscopy) and the creation of diagnostic species- and strain-specific serums have received the great attention. It was stressed the need of identification of viruses up to their strains.
