Risk management strategy for the oil and gas complex enterprise

The article analyzes the development of the oil and gas complex during a pandemic, the risk of global recession, energy transition, digitalization of the industry. The key positions of modern oil and gas complex are defined and their characteristics are given. The conditions under which the export model of Russia’s development is reformatted are considered. Leading areas of production have been identified that require effective risk management associated with the specifics of the industry, its processes and their impact on the achievement of strategic goals and objectives (sustainable development of the country’s economy, industry, innovation development priorities, digitalization of the industry, development of new energy sources, production of high value-added products, increased oil recovery in the Russian Federation, utilization of associated petroleum gas and its rational use, optimization of the system of integrated use of mineral resources, lean and efficient use of natural resources, etc.). Systematization of specific risks allows improving mechanisms of economic management of the enterprise, taking into account their minimization. The article suggests the following stages of the production cycle: exploration and methods of remote sensing, development, processing of oil and gas, transportation of oil and gas, sales of oil and gas in domestic and foreign markets. Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment arises at the stage of exploration in geological and geophysical development. When a full range of risk accounting is obtained, including geological information about possible deviations in production and financial indicators, the obtained information is able to minimize losses at all stages of the production cycle of oil and gas companies.
