Stratigraphy of the early - middle bronze funeral complexes at Ust-Tartas-2

The article presents new Bronze Age materials obtained in excavations in the Baraba forest-steppe during the field season of 2018. The investigation of the site Ust-Tartas-2 revealed a unique picture where the Early Bronze burial of the Ust-Tartas culture was disturbed by the Early-Middle Bronze burial of the Odinovo culture. The Ust-Tartas burial revealed two large bronze objects, which is not typical for the funeral practices of the population of the Ust-Tartas culture. In the burial of the Odinovo culture there was a ceramic vessel with the parallels in materials of the Bronze Age Krokhalevo culture. The study provides a description of the stratigraphic and planigraphic positions of burials, a characteristic of the burial rite and inventory. The conclusion is made about the relative chronology of the Ust-Tartas and the Odinovo cultures of the Early-Middle Bronze Age.
