In 2016, studies of Pleistocene deposits in the Main Chamber of Denisova Cave have been resumed. In order to refine the lithological and stratigraphic sequence of the main (south-eastern) excavation profile, it has been extended by an additional cut along the G-squares line, which exposed lithological layers 9, 11, 12, 14, 19-22. The section reveals a total thickness of 4 m. Data resulted from the excavation works have made it possible to determine depositional characteristics of some layers, and to establish the fact indicating changes in the pattern of manifestation for the post-sediment deformations of the deposits in the section. Specifically, a tendency showing the continuous dipping of layers toward the south-eastern wall of the cave, as well as the increased role of visco-plastic deformations having the involutory and collapsible origin, have been recognized. In addition, lithological associations between some layers in the Main Chamber and East Chamber of the cave have been identified.
