The structure of demonstrative-protest crime

Бесплатный доступ

The last two years (2020 and 2021) are unique in terms of the criminal intensity of protest actions: 83% of all crimes committed in the period from 2010 to 2021 occur in these two years. At the same time, it is important to pay attention to the fact that the diving increase in the number of crimes, in contrast to administrative offenses, began in 2019. It can be reasonably assumed that since 2019 there has been a quite distinct and extremely unfavorable trend in the growth of demonstrative protest crime. The structure of crime, identified on the basis of sufficiently representative data characterizing mass uncoordinated protest actions with political demands of negative content, can serve as a typical scheme for understanding the structure of demonstrative protest crime as a whole. One fourth of all crimes here are acts that can be classified as organizational, preparatory (Articles 151.2, 205.2, 212, 212.1, 236 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). And three-quarters are acts committed directly during a mass action, of which the bulk (52.7%) is violence against representatives of law enforcement agencies and violations of public order of various degrees of danger and subject matter (Articles 167, 207, 213, 214, 267, 267.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
