Liver fibrosis structure in patients with NAFLD in the association with obesity and metabolic syndrome

Based on a comprehensive study, an association was found between the severity of metabolic disorders in patients with abdominal obesity, with the progression of the stages of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and the severity of fibrotic processes in the liver. It was found that the proportion of patients with signs of liver fibrosis in obese patients is 50% and increases to 73% in the presence of concomitant early disorders of carbohydrate metabolism.
