Structure and dynamics of the number of road accident victims in the Republic of Crimea in 2016-2020

The article analyzes the mortality rate on the roads of the Republic of Crimea. Use of data for a sufficiently long period (five years) contributes to determining the dynamics of the indicator and its components (mortality of motor vehicle drivers, pedestrians, etc.). Special attention is paid to the problem of increasing mortality of persons driving two - and three - wheeled vehicles, which can be explained by the increasing popularity among residents of the Crimea of vehicles with low - power electric motors. There is also a juxtaposition of classic scooters and bicycles with their analogues driven by an electric motor. Conclusion: vehicles with an electric motor are worse in terms of health, environmental friendliness and safety. There are also recommendations for improving the current situation at different levels: from legislation to individual.
