The structure of interpersonal relationships in Martin Buber’s philosophy

The article deals with the structure of the inter-human relationship of Martin Buber. While the author does not set himself the task of constructing a model of intersubjectivity, and does not use such a term, the structure of the intersubjective relation in his works is clearly traced. As a result of the analysis, the intersubjectivity space is fixed as three-layered. I-You-attitude in the terminology of Buber seems to include the first -the existential-phenomenological - and the second - the cultural-symbolic - layers. Communication at these levels goes within the logic of the victim and the logic of the gift, respectively. It emphasizes the identity of I-It-relationship with the third - the institutional-normative level of intersubjectivity. Communication at this level is inherent in double mediation or exchange logic. Each of the three levels of the structure is shown as corresponding to all intersubjectivity as a whole on the principle of selfsimilarity or fractality. Each level is three-level. The natural transition from I-You to I-It-relation and the growth of the latter are stated, but the possibility of a return movement is also indicated - through the entry into the reality of the relationship, through the complete acceptance of the presence as the Present.
