This article analyzes such categories of Bourdieu's structuralist constructivism as "social space", "field", "habitus", "symbolic power", "codification", "codified ritual" and others. They are considered in terms of their use in the studies of intercultural communication. The intercultural communication is defined in this article as a set of diverse relations between people belonging to different cultures. The differences in the perception of cultural meanings and symbolic systems should be sufficiently tangible to change the communicative event and expand cultural worldview of interaction participants. The paper is an attempt to use the analytical apparatus of Bourdieu in the study of specific cases of intercultural communication, dedicated to reproduction of symbolic power by the example of the American and Japanese-Korean education systems and codification practices in Russian-Korean mixed marriages.
