Structural and functional features of phrases-cliches in the English judicial discourse

In this article the judicial discourse is considered as a cultural phenomenon. The differences of social factors and national-cultural specificity of judges ' thinking in the English judicial discourse are highlighted. The analysis concerns the evaluative and emotional aspect of judges ' behavior from the point of view of the historical development of the Englishlegal system.This work is of interest tolinguists and those who are interested in judicial discourse.
