Structural and semantic analysis of the components of primary phraseological unit formation in English and German

The article considers the process of primary phraseological unit formation and structural and semantic analysis of the most productive units obtained by primary phraseological unit formation in the English and German languages. The investigated material showed that the most common and productive ways of forming phraseological units in the languages under study include the formation of phraseological units by reconsideration of the variable combinations of words and phraseological units obtained on the basis of potential phraseological units.
