The subculture of St. Petersburg high school students: students’ view

The traditional history of education consider the school environment of St. Petersburg pre-revolutionary grammar schools through the categories of the educational process, educational system and community of pedagogues, based on official historical sources, but, as a rule, it does not include a look at school of its disciples, that reduces the historical reality created by the historians of pedagogy in the picture of the past. This article presents typological analysis of the memoirs of St. Petersburg high school students to fill this gap.
