The court of arbitration based on the customary law was the main regulator of conflicts in traditional society. At the same time, the court of supreme Justice was allowed in the proceedings, allegedly determining the guilt of the people and punishing them for it. This phenomenon existed in the Buryat legal culture. The aim of the study is to determine the significance of the court of mythical spirits-masters in resolving conflict situations in the Buryat society in the 18th - first half of the 19th century. It has been identified that the main purpose of the court of the mythical spirits -masters was to regulate the conflicts among the Buryats and to secure the social order. Later, under the influence of such factors as weakening of tribal relations, changes in the boundaries between the Buryat habitation areas, the rejection of the traditional (shaman) outlook, and others, the significance of the court of supreme Justice became lower.
