The article considers the heritage of the creators of Slavic writing Cyril and Methodius. Its historical significance is shown. The religious and educational activities of the brothers of Solun are revealed. The article substantiates the increased role of the traditions laid down by Cyril and Methodius in the search for answers to the challenges of the XXI century and solving urgent problems of education.
