The court reform of 1864 viewed by contemporaries

This article reviews the questions of controversial perception by the contemporaries of the court reform`s positive results in the second half of XIX century. The author emphasises the views of K.P. Pobedonostsev who reflected the conservative point of view on the issues of the court reform realisation. His attitude to the institution of jury, significant influence of the advocates during the trial don’t lose its topicality even today.
