The paper presents results of a review of the literature on suicidal behavior of patients with multiple sclerosis. An increase in the level of readiness for suicide among these patients compared to the general population is noticed. The greatest risk periods for suicide are as follows: diagnosis, relapse / disease progression or significant deterioration. Additional negative impact is often unavoidable changes (predominantly, reductions) in professional level, reduction of material security and social status. The main subjectively meaningful motives of suicidal activity are experiencing depressive circle, and somatic distress. Suicides in the period of the disease are attempted by 1.6 to 5.8 % of patients. In most cases they are of true character. In contrast to the general population rarely alcohol consumption is involved in suicidal actions. Most patients indirectly (58.4 %) or open (20.8 %) report their suicidal ideas, but don't always obtain support. The conclusion is necessity of more steadfast attention of doctors to the emotional state of patients and involvement, as necessary, experts in the field of mental health.
