Suicidal behavior in children and teenagers of the indigenous peoples of Siberia: cognitive risk factors (part I)

Behavior can be a cognitive factor, lack of problem-solving skills, inability to properly assess the situation and find a constructive way out, in particular. Aim: to study the features of the cognitive-behavioral pattern in the situation of frustration in adolescents of indigenous populations of Siberia (Yakuts, Evens, Evenks, Altaians, Agin Buryats and Tuvans), in comparison with adolescents of Eastern Slavs. Material and methods. By an anonymous questionnaire, adolescents of the indigenous population of Siberia with a population of 703 people were surveyed, among whom there were 181 Yakuts, 63 Evens and Evenks, 103 Altaians, 228 Aghin Buryats and 128 Tuvans. The control group included Eastern Slavs numbering 136 people. A total of 839 people were examined, with the mean age of 16.5 y.o. The survey used a Self-assessment of mental states questionnaire, which includes 4 scales (Anxiety, Frustration, Rigidity and Aggression), with 10 statements in each scale. For each statement, there were 3 possible answers: “not suitable”, “suitable, but not completely” and “fully suitable”; statements were encoded as “0”, “1” or “2”...
