The Essence and Concept of Transport Suprastructure

The article examines the main aspects of the concept of transport suprastructure as part of the economic system that provides auxiliary and regulatory actions in the implementation of transportation of goods and people. Effective functioning of transport requires constant investment and must meet the needs of society and business, while special attention should be paid to the transport suprastructure, which can play an important role in eliminating barriers and increasing the effectiveness of interaction between participants in the transport system. Transport suprastructure is a set of formal norms and informal social values, customs and principles regulating the activities of the transport system. In the context of globalization and ongoing changes in international trade, the coordinated development of transport infrastructure and suprastructure is particularly relevant, as it helps to improve coordination, reduce costs and increase the speed of transportation. The analysis of scientific literature on the selected issues showed insufficient specification of the concepts of “hard” and “soft” infrastructure in Russia, which emphasizes the need for a more in-depth study of the transport suprastructure as an integral part of the country’s transport industry.
