The essence of the national project and its place in the system of sources of law are investigated. To date, the domestic legislator chooses in the course of lawmaking such a form of legal regulation that meets modern changes in social relations and takes into account the predictive nature of such relations. The author reveals the legal content of the national project, its difference from other forms (sources) of law. As a result, the legal concept of "national project" was formulated, which is absent in the conceptual series of the theory of state and law, therefore, the issues of its functional purpose, structure, and mechanism of implementation remain unexplored. It has been established that the most significant features of national projects are the framework nature of the prescriptions, the predictive nature of the provisions, expressed in indicators and the guiding nature of the legal impact on public relations.
