Secular schools in rural areas in Dagestan in the second half of the XIX century

The article is devoted to the study of the process of formation of secular education in rural areas in the Dagestan region in the second half of the 19th century. The author concluded that after the accession of the mountainous region to the Russian Empire, the mountain population of Dagestan positively perceived education in a secular school.
