Witnesses of changes: works of primitive art from Eastern and Central Europe during the late glacial age

The article examines the works of art from the sites of Eastern and Central Europe that existed during the Late Glacial period. An iconographic and stylistic analysis of graphic images carved on the tusks was carried out for the materials from the sites Kostenki 11 (level IA), Obolonye, Kiev-Kirillovskaya, and also the works of minor plastic art retrieved when excavating the sites of Zamyatnin archaeological culture, Mezin and Mezhirichi sites, Piatra Neamt 1, Przedmost and Willendorf II. The cultural relationship between the art of the Middle and Late Upper Paleolithic of the Center of the Russian Plain, as well as Central Europe in the areas of modern Austria, Romania and southeastern region of Czech Republic is shown.
