One of the most significant churches in St. Petersburg since the end of the XVIII century was the Holy Trinity Church “Kulich and Easter”. For most of its more than two-century history, it was and in many ways remains the spiritual center of the Nevsky Outpost. Her shrines played an important role in the church life of the townspeople, which was especially pronounced during the Soviet period. The Holy Trinity Church was built in the style of Russian classicism in 1785-1788 according to the project of the outstanding St. Petersburg architect, N. A. Lvov, and is unique in its architecture among all the churches in Russia. In 1874, the future Supreme Ruler of Russia, Admiral A. V. Kolchak, was baptized in the church. In 1938, the church was closed, but reopened on April 17, 1946. Revered shrines were transferred to the temple - the image of the Mother of God “Joy to All Who Mourn” (with pennies), as well as the Kolpino icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Since 1976, the famous St. Petersburg pastor Archpriest Vasily Ermakov has served in the church for several years. Parish activity has been especially active since the late 1980s. The article is based on archival documents.
