The high risk of suicidal behavior in patients with schizophrenia is caused not only by the manifestations of the disorder itself, concomitant depression, but also by a number of adverse effects of antipsychotic therapy. Objective: To identify the relationship between parasuicides in history, hopelessness, akathisia and key clinical and dynamic indicators in patients with schizophrenia. Materials: A total of 71 patients with schizophrenia were examined using the Barnes akathisia scores, Beck Hopelessness Inventory, PANSS and SASS. Results: The prevalence of parasuicides in history was 36.6%. It has been established that in patients with an earlier onset of schizophrenia, parasuicides occur significantly more often (p=0.0056). Similar results were obtained depending on the presence or absence of akathisia (p=0.022). There were no associations between hopelessness and parasucicides in history with akathisia. Сonclusions : The obtained data suggest a greater contribution to the genesis of suicidal behavior in schizophrenic patients with clinical and dynamic indicators compared to iatrogenic ones.
