The article deals with a group of words defined by modern linguistics as "discursive markers". Discursive markers are considered as a group of words, which includes auxiliary (non-significant) or significant parts of speech, which have the property of deicticity and perform a structuring function in the text. Their functional purpose is that they serve as a kind of link between the speaker and his attitude to the speaker, between the speaker and the listener. The purpose of this article is to analyze the text-forming potential of discursive markers. The relevance of this work is determined, firstly, by the need to clarify the term "discursive marker" and determine its functional purpose in journalistic style texts; secondly, the need to identify a set of discursive markers typical of the journalistic style. The following methods were used to carry out the analysis: descriptive, comparative and component analysis. This paper describes discursive markers related to various parts of speech, such as modal particles, modal words, adverbs, introductory words. In the course of the analysis, the author comes to the conclusion that the connecting function of discursive markers is manifested in their cataphoric, anaphoric, establishing additive and causal logical relationships.
