The article deals with the British poetry of the early 19th century and the translations into Russian made by S. Marshak. Analysis of the use of expressive means by a poet-translator is carried out on poems by poets such as George Byron, John Keats, and Percy Shelley, who were the main figures in the second Romantic Movement. Much attention is given to the linguistic analysis of the original poems and their interpretation in Russian, which shows the peculiarities of Marshak as a translator. The article is of interest to modern poets, linguists, translators and those who are interested in English literature.
